Urgent and Walk-in Care is the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries in a medical facility that generally provides after-hours and walk-in medical care, no appointment required, outside of a hospital-based emergency room (ER). Urgent Care and Walk-in Centers are typically open after-hours, and provide the same services as a family or primary medical care physician. Most urgent care centers offer: general medical care, occupational medicine, x-ray's, lab's, vaccines, school and sports physicals and limited on-site prescriptions.  They are especially convenient when you cannot wait for an appointment or your doctor is on vacation.
